Prometheus is the newsletter of the Libertarian Futurist Society. The first issue appeared December, 1982. I became editor in 1994, after the issue ceased publication in mid-1992. Victoria Varga, then the Director of the LFS and a former editor, had sent out a request for volunteers to edit the newsletter. I volunteered in 1993, and my first issue came out in 1994. I edited 19 issues (the first issue combined numbers 1 and 2 of that year) until I decided to take a break and try other things.
After I left William H. Stoddard took over the editorship, and for five years he also produced a regular schedule of quarterly issues before deciding to step down. The transition to a new editor never quite took off, and the LFS once more asked members for volunteers or suggestions. I decided to try editing the newsletter once more, and since 2005 have produced the quarterly print edition that members, subscribers, and various interested parties receive.
Anyone is welcome to submit reviews and articles to Prometheus. Eventually I hope to move the newsletter entirely online, including an archive of all previously published issues. I intended to update and publish the index of contributors and contents at this site, but where and when the online newsletter will appear has not yet been decided.
