The Libertarian Futurist Society has announced the finalists in one the award categories for 2010. This Hall of Fame Award used to go the best classic novel, but now covers many different categories. Three of the nominees this year are short stories.
- "As Easy as A.B.C." by Rudyard Kipling
- Cryptonomicon, by Neal StephensonÂ
- "No Truce with Kinds," by Poul Anderson
- "'Repent, Harlequin!' Said the Ticktockman" by Harlan Ellison
I've read all the finalists, though it's been a while for two of them. I have not yet decided which one I will vote for, though I currently place Kipling's story last. I have heard good arguments for this story, but I just have not bought into them yet.
