I was born in Norway, grew up in Zambia, and currently reside in the US. I graduated from the University of Texas with an undergraduate degree in English and History, but fate works in mysterious ways and I now develop databases, integrate these with web pages, and lead several training courses each year.
I'm currently a FileMaker Pro and PHP developer/ trainer for a small technology company in Texas. I'm a FileMaker Pro 9 & 10 authorized developer and certified trainer, and I have created training courses in FileMaker and PHP integration, as well as on creating PDFs via PHP. I'm working on other training courses, as well as writing articles and materials that go with each course.
I'm the current editor of Prometheus, the newsletter of the Libertarian Futurist Society. I first edited Prometheus from 1994 through the end of 1999, then took over again in 2004. The newsletter comes out four times a year in a print format, although I am considering moving the newsletter to an online format only. In March 2008 I scanned every single past copy of Prometheus, and since then I have gradually been working on formatting and proof-reading the digital copies for eventual publication online.
Since 1987 I have written nearly 200 reviews and essays, mostly for Prometheus, but others have appeared in publications like NOVA Express, Laissez Faire Books Catalog, Ideer om Frihet, and elsewhere. My favorite writers include Jack Vance, Clark Ashton Smith, Dan Simmons, F. Paul Wilson, Iain Banks, Tim Powers, James P. Blaylock, Ken MacLeod, and Michael Shea.
